Planet Partnerships is supporting the modernization of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) infrastructure services and improved Water Resources Management (WRM) in 10 provinces through innovative finance and investment partnerships.

Tasked with mobilizing US$310 million for catalytic investments in WASH infrastructure and ecosystem conservation, our team has simultaneously developed a transaction pipeline with a total investment value exceeding US$800 million; partnered with the venture capital team of a large financial conglomerate to raise US$25 million for an early-stage impact investment fund; partnered with a regional investor committed to multiple US$5-7 million equity investments in growth companies; and, established an investor network of 120+ investment funds, infrastructure developers, equipment manufacturers, banks, technology developers, utilities, and government agencies.

Transaction Pipeline Development

We identified and evaluated over 125 WASH infrastructure and WRM projects in 38 cities and districts in consultation with local government, utilities, and private enterprise. The 20 most viable projects were then shortlisted for advanced transaction support.

Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) in Borneo

In consultation with stakeholders along the Kapuas River, the second longest freshwater river in Southeast Asia, our team completed a biophysical profile for West Kalimantan and prepared an Ecosystem Investment Toolkit to prepare PES projects.

WASH Investment Summit

Our team designed and managed a WASH Investment Summit with 250+ participants in Jakarta as a landmark event to promote private investment and blended finance for WASH infrastructure projects and value chain companies throughout Indonesia.

Financial Institution Partnerships

To enable access to finance for dynamic businesses, we partnered with an international investor to package multiple deals of US$5-7 million each, as well as to launch a US$25 million impact investment fund with a leading financial services conglomerate.
